No actual German event is complete without some pretzel catering.
Our delicious pretzels are sourced from Australia’s best German bakers and only to our stringent quality requirements. They come as minis and giant pretzels, savoury, sweet or filled.
For certain events, we can also bake the pretzels freshly on-site – oven-fresh pretzels – baked on-site, served hot and creating a smell that’s just irresistible.
For the complete experience, we hire out a great looking pretzel cart suitable for various locations both indoors and outdoors.
With its compact dimensions (1.8/2.4/3.0m – depending on fold-out sides) and sleek look, it’s a real head-turner and great addition to any event.
We can serve the pretzels alongside our Gourmet catering, but they also work perfectly with our mobile (beer & more) bars or – for suitable events – as a standalone product.
Check out our unique pretzel cart – in fact, Australia’s only dedicated pretzel cart – here.
We offer our delicious pretzels both as minis (great as a finger food item or snack) and larger size pretzels with custom sizes available on special request.
The pretzels come with sea salt (the classic), sesame seeds or baked with cheese, or bacon & cheese.
HUT DOG catering + events also offer sweet pretzels (e.g., caramelized sugar, orange, and cinnamon).
Our team also offers delicious savoury filled pretzels (e.g., ham & cheese, salami, or a variety of cheeses and salad).
So what exactly is a pretzel, and how is it made?
A pretzel is a baked bread product made from dough most commonly shaped into a twisted knot. Originated in Europe, possibly among monks in the Early Middle Ages. The traditional shape is a distinctive nonsymmetrical form (“a pretzel loop”).
Watching our artisan bakers making the pretzels by hand is a true feast.
These days pretzels come in a range of different shapes but we go with the classic style.
Salt is the most common seasoning for pretzels, complementing the washing soda or lye treatment that gives pretzels their traditional “skin” and flavour. Other seasonings include various cheeses, sugars, chocolate, glazes, seeds or nuts.
There are several varieties of pretzels, including the soft pretzels that we offer, which are best eaten shortly after preparation.
